We have lots of great ideas and now it is time to start taking small steps to make a big difference. What are you willing to do? Be as specific as possible about your ideas.
Thank you Stephen. And thank you to everyone who has been able to fit the last 3 Fridays into their busy lives. We will have more evenings like this so keep reading and exploring and sharing! It has been not only fun, but effective and energizing! Yes?!
I will post these to the blog, as well, but I want to share the "dream/vision" words everyone shared last night to make sure that people who couldn't be there can join in...and are encouraged to go to the blog.
To set the stage...Last night, because I thought there were people in the room that did not know each other, I asked everyone to introduce themselves and their history/relationship with ELT and spontaneously asked all to use one word to describe their vision/dream for their community theatre...everyone had their own vision word, and was inspired to hear others. Please feel free to add your word, if you weren't there. Dialog is a positive thing. And from dialog comes action. At the end of the evening, I challenged all of us to commit to taking at least one action that would serve ELT and align with these visions/dreams/goals. So, please, state your action/goal. What small step can you take, how can you help out and not just receive personal opportunity from ELT but also create a thriving theater for everyone? (FYI: Steven Hovis & Judy Born are the "volunteers" link on the board - so if you want to help, but don't know what is needed, ask them and they will be happy to share opportunities - perhaps, Steven & Judy you could make a "action opportunities" list on the blog?)
Creative Process Professionalism Artistry Change Bold Evolving Well Respected Passion Integrated Creativity Expressive Progressive Accessible to Youth Camaraderie Alive to Thrive Inclusive
ACTIONS: I committed to proposing to the board and helping to organize "work days", throughout the season - where everyone can come and help maintain the building/help with publicity/whatever ELT decides is needed at that time. (BTW, John Koons needs help this very Sunday at the building - action opportunity!) :)
Can anyone tell me what this is all about? Seriously...
